More California Fall Foliage Updates

California Fall Color 10/8/10

California Fall Color blog has posted a good report for the foliage densities in various Eastern Sierra locations and reports color is beginning to move to lower elevations (down to 7000 feet)

The Sacramento Bee reports its predictions for Best Bets for fall leaf color, Oct. 8-10

Michael Frye wrote about fall color in Yosemite and the Eastern Sierra: Wild Weather, and the Annual Fall

Calphoto’s California Fall Color also has some updates and  a reminder that : “Tioga Pass (Route 120 through Yosemite over to Highway 395) may, from time to time this fall, close because of snow. You can call (800) GAS-ROAD and key in “120” to check road conditions before you go.”

Plumas County,CA is predicting peak color the last two weeks of October but is starting to show color in some places.  For updates and  current reports go to Awesome Autumn and blackoaknaturalist
