Fall Color Updates 10/6/10 (Calif., Rockies, New Hampshire, Ohio, Idaho)

Parchers Resort reports on 10/5/10  for the Bishop Creek Canyon area in the  Eastern Sierra reports “The peak is here anywhere above 8500ft and the fall color is as vibrant as I’ve ever seen it. Bright reds, oranges and yellows are all over the place and with the dusting of snow we have had over the past two days, the scenery is even more spectacular than usual! There is still plenty of green aspen below the 8000ft level so weather permitting there is some great color yet to appear, but oh my gosh – it’s awfully good right now.”  Go to their site for more details Parchers Resort

Fall Color in California has a number of new reports that the high elevations in the  Eastern Sierra still have a lot of color.  Reports also say that Plumas County is still mostly green.

Yosemite Nature Notes reports:

“in Yosemite, autumn has arrived with lightning and rain. Black oaks, redbud, bigleaf maple, grape, and poison oak are turning bright yellow. The Merced River is up in volume and quite turbid with runoff sediment. Tioga Road has been closed for several days now due to snow up high.”
