September 25, 2010 is National Public Lands Day

It is one of several fee-free days at the National Parks. Another free day this year will be November 11, 2010 (Veterans Day). The free fee days include entrance fees, commercial tour fees, and transportation entrance fees. Reservation fees, camping fees, tours, concession and fees collected by third parties are not free unless stated otherwise.
National Public Lands Day is an initiative of the National Environmental Education Foundation. Its goal is encourage volunteer conservation efforts and enjoyment and appreciation of public lands. http://www.publiclandsday.org/
Two California Condors to be Released at Pinnacle National Monument
To celebrate National Public Lands Day, Pinnacles National Monument plans to release two condors on the east side of the park on September 25 at 9:25. For more information go to the National Park site: Pinnacles Condor Program
Four Condors to be Released in Northern Arizona
Four condors will all be released at Vermillion Cliffs National Monument in a wilderness area in Northern Arizona: Endangered condors set for release in Arizona
