today about the the first Osprey chick in decades to hatch in Orange County. It occured on a nesting platform built on a preserve by the Irvine Ranch water district. For years osprey were decimated by DDT and hunters. This may be the beginning of a slow recovery osprey population in Orange county. To read more go to Ospreys make a comeback in Orange County.
