Meeting in the Pines

You never know what you will find when you go out on a botanical and photographic journey.  Last week when we went to the Patriarch Grove on White Mountain to see and photograph Bristlecone Pines and tiny “belly plants”  (see White Mountain and Tiny Flowers), we ran into a photographer who had been staying up all night doing time-lapse star photography framed by Bristlecone Pines.  She was professional photographer  and workshop leader, Jennifer Wu. We talked for a while  about  what we were photographing, where we planned to go, and  exchanged cards.   Just yesterday I checked out some of her work on-line.  I discovered that she is one of Canon’s 62 elite “Explorers of Light” and that she teaches a class on Landscape Photography at BetterPhoto that I almost signed up for a year ago.  Here is a video interview with her where she shows and talks about some of her impressive work: Interview with Jennifer Wu.
