Regional Parks Botanic Garden – Tilden Park

I went back to the Regional Parks Botanic Garden today to see more early spring wildflowers.

Still in bloom are Lupines, Manzanitas, and Gooseberries. The Foetid Adder’s Tongue appears to be finished.   Also in bloom are  California Poppy, Trillium, Adobe Lilly, Mahonia, Wall Flower, Red Wood Oxalis, Star Zigadene, Colt’s Foot, Ceanothus and Garrya. There were also masses of Pipevines on the outside fence on the west side of the Garden. Birds included Anna’s Hummingbird, Juncos, and several sparrows including Gold-Crowned.

It is still early but there is enough in bloom to keep the close-up photographer happy and maybe meet the needs of impatient spring wildflower seeker.
