Wildflowers are starting to appear at Chimney Rock in Point Reyes National Seashore. I walked the trail Saturday, 2/20, and observed checker mallow, coastal wallflower, Indian paint brush, coast manroot, meadow chickweed, California buttercup, footsteps of spring and Douglas iris. The iris and buttercup are blooming in profusion; others are just beginning. It is early. The rains this winter have certainly helped. One would expect a few warm days would bring out a lot of blooms.
