This April, Bob Stewart, a very knowledgeable and experienced naturalist, who is known to many Bay Area nature lovers, has a series of one day outings in Marin and the East Bay. April l Mitchell Canyon. Mt. Diablo Meet 9AM
Directions from Marin: Take Richmond Bridge; take Castro Street to Richmond Parkway to Highway 80; go right to San Pablo Dam Rd. to Highway 24 to 680 Ygnacio Valley Rd. turnoff; to Clayton Rd. (right) (turns into Marsh Creek Road) to Mitchell Canyon Rd. (right) to parking. (approximate time 1.5 hours)
April 5 Cataract Trail Meet 9AM at corner Highway l and road to Pan Toll.
April 7 Coastal Wildflowers: Meet 8AM White House Pool County Park
Directions from San Rafael: From Sir Francis Drake Blvd go to Olema on Highway 1; go north on Highway 1 to road to Inverness (turn left). Look for White House Pool on right just before the road does a sharp turn to the left.
April 12 Birds and Migration. Meet 8 AM White House Pool County Park
April 15 Olema to 5 Brooks. Meet Olema 9 AM. A 3.5 mile walk to 5 Brooks one way. We will car shuttle so we can drive back from Olema.
April 20 Birds and Migration. Meet 8 AM Stinson Beach Post Office
Cost: $25 per day. Bring lunch. Walks end 3 PM
