Eastern Sierra Fall Color 10/7/2014

Here are excerpts from 3 posts on Calphoto from the past few days:
1. The best I saw was in the Bishop Creek drainage, west of Bishop. I would say the area around North Lake was at its peak 2-3 days ago. The South Fork Bishop Creek road was excellent, with a nice mix of green, gold and gone. I think it will continue to be great for photography for a while yet.
Down around the town of Bishop, and in the upper Owens Valley in general, the rabbittbrush is thick with yellow blossoms; the cottonwood trees are just showing some signs of yellow leaves.
Upper McGee Creek was very good, while the lower areas still had a lot of green trees that were just barely starting to turn color.
Twin Lakes in the Mammoth Lakes basin is very nice right now, with yellow aspen along the shore in several places. There are a few aspen trees around the other lakes up there that accent overall landscapes of the lakes.
If you are planning to be in that area anytime in the next ten days, I’d say your timing is excellent to catch great fall color.
2. I was at Dundenberg Meadow on Sunday.  It was spectacular.  It was better than Bishop, McGhee, and Rock Creeks combined.
3. We were in Mono County today/ Lee-vining,Virginia lakes, sonora pass are at there peak(golden brown and amazingly beautiful).
