2019 Tilden Fungus Fair

Welcome to the fourth annual Tilden Fungus Fair, a day dedicated to the fungi of the Bay Area!
In addition to tables of identified local fungi for your enjoyment and education, this event also includes presentations by local experts, a cooking demonstration, a drawing and painting class, ice cream making, mushroom crafts, and more! Read on for details.

Presentations:
11am: “Complexity, Simplicity and Convergence – a tour through the evolutionary history of the Mushrooms and their relatives.” Presentation by Dr. Thomas Bruns, UC Berkeley
12:30pm: Mushroom Cooking demonstration with Morgan Evans, Mycological Society of San Francisco
2pm: “The Most Dangerous Fungi in the World.” Presentation by Christian Schwarz, co-author of Mushrooms of the Redwood Coast
3:30pm: Mushroom Field Sketching workshop with John Muir Laws, Naturalist / Illustrator
Arts and Crafts:
12pm & 2pm: Candy cap ice cream making
11am – 2pm: Mushroom crafts table for kids
