San Juan National Forest  reports on 9/16/16

Estimated Percentage of Current Fall Foliage:
Durango to Purgatory – 5% not much
Molas Pass – 5% not much
Silverton/Red Mtn Pass – 20% south side of town good
Pagosa – 2%
Dolores to Lizard Head Pass – 10% starting to show
Mancos/La Platas – 10% starting to show
San Jun Skyway- 5%

Areas with Greatest Amount of Color / Recommended Viewing Areas:
the curve just south of Silverton

Estimated Peak Viewing Period:
Give it a couple of weeks

Viewing Suggestions / Tips:
Plan on highest elevation the next couple of weeks

Trees That Are Currently Turning Color:
Aspen and some oak brush.
