The Regional Parks Botanic Garden in Tilden Park in Berkeley, CA will be offering two types of volunteer training in 2016: Garden Volunteer Training and Docent Training.
The specific content of Garden Volunteer Training, which will run from mid-January through late March, will include information about many important plants in the garden. Except for the first couple of classes, which will focus on basic botany, plant identification, and garden history, the classes will take place fully outdoors in the garden.
Docent Training will include the 10 weeks of Garden Volunteer Training (mid-January through late March) followed by 10 more weeks of training in interpretive techniques and theme tour training in early April through early June. Most of the docent training classes will take place outdoors in the garden, as well.
Both Garden Volunteer Training and Docent Training are designed for prospective volunteers, and it is expected that those who enroll will volunteer their time at the garden after completing training.Click read more for more information
