Natural History Wanderings

The Rocky Mt. Nature Photographers have started their Fall Color thread for 2015 and the first posting is for Bison Peak in Colorado. It sounds they are seeing black leaf spot fungus similar to what we are seeing in California.

 Nearly half of the aspen in that part of Teller County/the Taryalls are already dropping leaves, and while there are a few pockets of yellow, most of the leaves have brown or black spots on them so it’s not a pretty scene…hopefully this is not representative of other parts of the state!
