California Wildflower Reports

Excerpts from three wildflower posts on Where to photograph in California Yahoo Group

  1. Owens Valley this past week, at Lone Pine/Alabama Hills and now in Bishop. We have seen only isolated flowers here and there.
  2. Patrick’s Point, Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, Jedediah Smith in Redwood State Park. There were lots of flowers, saw 3 different kind of trillium and huge quantities of trillium in general. Also Fairy Bells were out in large numbers. We hiked in the Redwood forests as well as some of the numerous dunes in that area. We saw new to us species every day, and lots of old friends as well.
  3. up and down Hwy 49 has poppies and other wildflowers, but the grass they are growing in is mostly brown now.    It was better a few weeks ago, but it’s still beautiful.
