Bird photos of visitors to our backyard. We put sunflower seeds and proso or white millet on a table and the ground. It attracts a number of birds especially sparrows. The birds also like the dense shrubs and trees in our yard.
Most days this time of year we see ten to fifteen different species in and around the yard. Oak Titmouse, Chestnut-backed Chickadee, Anna’s Hummingbird, California Towhee, Dark-eyed Junco, White-crowned Sparrow, Gold-crowned Sparrow, Fox Sparrow, House Sparrow and House Finch are usually daily visitors. Western Scrub Jay, Hermit Thrush, Lesser Goldfinch, American Robin, and Yellow-rumped Warbler are often seen as well. Occasional visitors include Red-breasted Nuthatches, Ruby-crowned Kinglet and Cedar Waxwings. Crows are nearby daily as well as an occasional Raven.
