Richardson Bay Sets Winter Bird Count Record

Bay Nature reported that Richardson Bay had a record winter bird count this past December. Beginning in 2006 twice a month from October to March Audubon California volunteers count the birds seen in Richardson Bay. This past December over 21,000 birds were counted which greatly exceeded the previous record of 13,000. Most common were: cormorants, grebes, ruddy ducks, scaups, and buffleheads.
