Eastern Sierra Nevada Fall Color 10/1/13

The California Nature Photographers Forum has a fall Color Report for the Eastern Sierra Nevada

Lundy ponds on Saturday morning. The trees in the area behind the ponds had yet to turn. Yesterday along Virginia Lakes road, the upper sections seemed past, the lower areas near 395 were coming into prime. Lee Vining canyon around power house road is a mix of yellow and green, although most of the trees that were prime had a lot of brown spots on them when seen close up. They looked vibrant from a distance.
