The Rocky Mt. Nature Photographers Forum has a number of new color reports and photos . Fall color is still early in most spots. Here are highlights of what has been posted for the last two days
- 9/24/13 Midday Sep 24 from Telluride. Toured around the Lizard Head Pass / Alta Lakes area. Mostly green to light green with small stsnds of brilliant yellow. Its kinds like yellow brush splatter – not much though. Some roadsides are yellow
- 9/23/13 La Sal Pass is mostly green low, yellow-green in many many places as you climb higher, and a few good stands of Yellow Aspens high up, including one section I drove through. Some hints of red on the tops of the lower trees. I am still learning Aspen timing, but I sense it could be very nice in the La Sals over the weekend.
- 9/23/13 McClure Pass area is at 15-20%, but with colder temps & snow overnight…should start to pop pretty quick. Pearl Pass rd (4wd or hiking) beyond Ashcroft is at 20-25%, but also due to pop due to colder temps, rain/snow overnight.
