Superior Nat. Forest Fall Color 9/16/13

Superior National Forest has the following fall color report today:

There was definitely frost on the pumpkin this morning – the car’s ice scraper had to be unearthed from the trunk. The freeze was harder inland from Superior; this area will be ahead of the Shore in color chnage.  A dusting of yellow leaves are on the ground, but in the trees, color is still hard to find. Understory plants continue to fade into yellows, reds, and browns.
