Superior National Forest has posted its first fall color report for the season:
Current Conditions (9/6/13):
This is the first fall color report of the year! Almost all the leaves are still green, but hints of color show in bush honeysuckle, dogbane, and sarsaparilla. Look too for moose maple keys.

I am going to Colorado (Aspen and Ouray) in late September. What do you think about the chances of having good color?

Personally, I can’t predict. However, I would suggest you follow the fall colors reports at the Rocky Mt. Nature Photographers forum at: http://www.naturephotographers.net/imagecritique/bbs.cgi?a=vm&mr=75582&CGISESSID=45e87535a4c852fad5fbc41df20d4e77&u=11089
There are frequent reports about fall color in Colorado and are already some postings for 2013.
Hope this helps.
