Great Smoky Mts. Wildflower Report 4/15/13

Great Smoky Mountains Association  just published their first wildflower report of the season

Chestnut Branch (B-E) – Yellow Trillium, Sweet White Violet, Halberd Leaf Violet, Long Spurred Violet, Common Blue Violet, Trillium Erect, Stonecrop, Golden Ragwort, Wild Geranium, Toothwort, Showy Orchus (1), Creamy Yellow Violet, Squaw Root, Wood Anemone, Bishop Caps, Star Chickweed, Common Cinquefoil, Trailing Arbutus, Rue Anemone and Blood Root.

A T (From Chestnut Branch to Lower Mt. Cammerer) – Halberd Leaf Violet, Star Chickweed, Common Blue Violet and Trailing Arbutus.

Lower Mount Cammerer (B-E) – Blood Root, Halberd Leaf Violet, Toothwort, Creamy Yellow Violet, Squirrel Corn, Rue Anemone, Spring Beauty, Trout Lily, Dutchmen’s Breeches, Yellow Trillium, Trailing Arbutus, Wild Oats, Star Chickweed, Bishop Caps, Trillium Erect, Yellow Mandarin, Meadow Parsnip, Wood Anemone, Common Cinquefoil,  Spotted Mandarin (few), Wild Geranium, Wild Phlox and Long Spurred Violet.  Note:   The Rue Anemone is outstanding in places on this trail- from the trail to the foot of steep embankments and above the trail.
