Stebbins Cold Canyon Wildflower Report

Charlie Russell of California Wildflower Hikes reported on Stebbins Cold Canyon:

Stebbins Cold Canyon just a few days ago, and I found more flowers
than I expected given all the talk about a dry year. Indian Warrior (a lot!),
Pipevine, Shooting Star (also a lot), Paintbrush, Lupine, Popcorn Flower,
Milkmaids, Hounds Tongue, Blue Dicks, Death Camas, Mission Bells (just one),
Canyon Larkspur

The Redbud was wonderful on the drive up from Winters, the
Ceanothus was in full bloom at the top of the ridge (I have found that I’m
particularly allergic to Ceanothus, it seems). Various lilies and Iris weren’t
blooming yet, but the plants are getting a good start, so they should be quite
nice in several weeks.
