The Anza-Borrego Foundation published the following wildflower update:
The Elephant Tree Nature Trail off of Split Mountain Road offers a variety of annuals in bloom right now. The one-mile unpaved road to the trail is rough and rocky, and not suitable for vehicles with low clearance.
There are a few specimens of sand verbena and spectacle-pod blooming at the north end of DiGiorgio Road. Park at the end of the pavement, and be careful where you step, as more plants are coming up.
Shrubs are blooming at the Visitor Center and in western canyons that have received more rainfall this winter.
