Calphoto has a detailed north coast wildflower report. Highlights include

  • Unfortunately, there was lots of mustard and wild radish
  • Early Season at  MacKerricher (blackberry, buttercup, iris, hound’s tongue)
  • good blooms on the bluffs on either side of the Pudding Creek Trestle (Fort Bragg). south side has displays of goldfields, tarweed, baby blue eyes, and cream cups, as well as checkerbloom, wallflower, and sea pink.
  •  lots of rhododendrons in bloom at Kruse Rhododendron SR
  • Gerstle Cove, a nice smattering of goldfields, a so-so display of bush lupine, lots  cream cups (it was very windy), and a fair number of irises; otherwise, just scattered wildflowers (blue-eyed grass, checkerbloom, brodiaea, etc.).
  • some nice lupine along the Sonoma coast south of Fort Ross.
