California’s lone Gray Wolf Canis lupus now has his own website Gray Wolf Canis lupus – California Department of Fish and Game. The wolf entered California on December 28 from Oregon. Wolves were native to California but had been extinct until recently. California Fish and Game report that the wolf, who has a GPS tracking collar, is now in eastern Shasta County is still heading south.
