Fall Color Around the Country

Colorado

11News has an article Grand Mesa leaves burst with color, attracting many visitors with cameras.  They report that “Grand Mesa shows vibrant yellows and oranges ”

Arkansas

The Republic  reports The colors of fall may not as bright in southwestern Arkansas due to drought conditions. They state that the sweet and black gum trees that produce red foliage have already dropped their leaves.  The oak trees which have yellow fall foliage may still show some color.  Peak fall color in southwestern Arkansas is predicted to be the last weekend of October to the first weekend of November.

Texas

The Report News story Leaves may turn earlier after drought says there is a good chance this will not be one of the better fall color season in Texas due to drought, heat and wildfires.

Ohio

The  Lancaster Gazette reports in its article Steady rainfall should make for bright color palette in this fall’s foliage that it is expected to be a good fall color season and will probably peak the second or third week of October.  The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has updated reports on its website every Wednesday at  www.dnr.state.oh.us

New Hampshire

Prweb ‘s article Fall Foliage Update: Waterville Valley Resort Surrounded by the Colors of Foliage Season, Peak Predicted for First 2 Weeks of October says “Expert predictions are for a vibrant autumn show of color” with peak coming the first two weeks of October.

Tennessee

The TimesFreePress reports Chattanooga: Dry weather conditions may rob leaves of their fall colors  Many trees have already dropped their leaves due to the dry weather.  At higher elevations the trees are already approaching winter-like states.
