It was overcast when I got up this morning. I went up to the Regional Parks Botanic Garden at Tilden Park planning to photograph flowers in the nice even light. However, the garden is on the east side of the hills and the sun was already out there. Like previous sunny days I went back to looking for flowers that either were in the shade or that could be shot with backlight. There are many Lilies (the genus Lilium) in bloom. Many other flowers were in bloom. Several that caught my attention today were Matilija Poppies, Monkey Flowers, native Roses, fireweed, and Clarkias. An interesting note is Pitcher Plant (Darlingtonia sp.) is now growing in the garden. To see a better quality larger photos go to: Flickr Slideshow
