The Oakland City Council denied the appeal of California Native Grasslands Association, and The Friends of Knowland Park against the Planning Department’s approval of the existing Subsequent Mitigated Negative Declaration/Addendum (SMNDA) for the Oakland Zoo’s Expansion into 50 acres of Knowland Park. This will result in severe damage to one of the few remaining native grasslands in the Oakland Hills and California.
