Low Tech Photography

The NY Times “Lens” blog ran a story about Randy Smith who makes custom Holgas, pinhole cameras and plastic S.L.R. lenses  One of Randy’s specialties is buying $22 Holga cameras and then modifying them with extra apertures, close focus, long exposure capability and many other alterations.  He has also made pinhole cameras with a Polaroid back, turned lunchboxes into pinhole cameras and altered Holga lenses  so they can be used on a digital S.L.R.   His cameras are popular with photographers looking for a different photographic aesthetic where  perfect exposure and focus are not important.  Read about it at:  Beauty, Through Pinhole or Plastic
