The Anza Borrego Natural History Association reports that some early season wildflowers are in bloom. They believe the wildflower season is either on time or early. Early reports include Spectacle Pod on the Canyon Jeep Road, Monkey Flowers in the sandy wash by the Sweeney Pass Road, Brittlebush and Arizona Lupine by Henderson Canyon Road at the Pegleg Monument, Heart-leaved Evening Primose by the Montezuma Valley Road, and Wild-Heliotrope (Phacelia distans), Forget-Me-Not (Cryptantha), Desert Verbena, and Dune Evening Primrose in many locations.
