California Fall Color Updates

California Foliage Reports as of 10/12/10

Calphoto reminds us that Tioga Pass Road (Highway 120 going across the Yosemite high country) has reopened, but check before going over to the Eastern Sierra as conditions continually change.  Call 800-gas-road.  Be sure to check the new Eastern Sierra Listings.

Michael Frye reports on many of the areas of the Eastern Sierra that  are still green and have yet to turn. He shares observations about the Bishop Creek Area, and a very promising report about Conway Summit, Virginia Lakes Road, and Dunderberg in two new postings on his blog: Yosemite and Eastern Sierra Fall Color Report and Fall Color Addendum

Parchers Resort reports the high elevation areas above 9000 feet  in Bishop Creek are past peak but that areas below 8,500 should peak in the next week or so.

The California Nature Photographers at naturephotographers.net have a number of foliage  photos posted from this past weekend in the Eastern Sierra.
