George Lepp Influential Nature Photographer

I thought I might periodically write about those photographers who have influenced my photography.  One of those is George Lepp.  Possibly the most significant thing I learned from George Lepp is to always take another picture of a poppy.  Having already taken many photos of poppies, I came across George Lepp’s exhibit on Poppies at the Pacific Grove Natural History Museum Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History on a trip down the coast of California.  He had pictures of poppies in landscapes, close-up and artistic and creative shots.  It was a great example of working the subject.  He has a gallery of poppy photos at his websitehttp://www.georgelepp.com/index.php/photo-galleries/poppies and a book: Golden Poppies of California

He also writes a very practical question and answer column in Outdoor Photographer called “Tech Tips” that is one of the practical features in the magazine http://www.outdoorphotographer.com/columns/tech-tips.html
