New bloom information and links: Death Valley, Gorman/Hungry Valley,

Death Valley National Park just posted on its website that the wildflower bloom has started. Good Displays are along the roads and alluvial fans in the lower elevations.  They are guessing that the best bloom will be in a couple of weeks.  Most abundant flower is Brown-eyed Evening Primrose.  For more info check their link:  http://www.nps.gov/deva/naturescience/wildflower-update-2010.htm

Hungry Valley/Gorman Yesterday the ranger from Hungry Valley told me it is still very early there.  There are views of Baby Blue-eyes in Hungry Valley and some patches of Coreopsis in the Gorman Hills.  Significant Bloom is expected the first or second week in April.  Your best bet is to check their website or call the ranger station.  http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=21945 (no postings yet this year); District Office phone number:(661) 248-7007

I have also updated the Wildflower Reports: What’s Blooming Where page.  It now includes links to Antelope Valley, Hungry Valley, U.S. Bureau of Land Management California Region, U.S. Forest Service Pacific Southwest Region (which includes California) and Henry Coe State Park.
