Marine Protected Areas Do Protect Turtles

A University of Exeter study reports on how Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) are successfully protecting turtles. The MPAs provide healthy foraging habitat and protecting the turtles from the threats of fishing. The study found that 35 of the world’s green turtles are found within the MPAs even though the MPAs total only a small proportion of the shallow ocean where turtles might be found.
