Natural History Wanderings

The San Francisco Chronicle reported on the sighting of a European Shelduck at Clear Lake in Northern California. What isn’t know is was this a bird that was 5000 off course as the bird is usually found  in the Wadden Sea on the coast of Germany and Ireland or is an escaped pet.
