Saddle Mt., Oregon Wildflower Report 6/16/13

Oregon Wildflowers  has the following wildflower report for Saddle Mt.

This is a great time to visit Saddle Mountain! There are lots of wildflowers in bloom virtually every step of the way from trailhead to summit, and I anticipate that things will continue to look good for the next several weeks.
Blooming in the forest: Pacific Waterleaf (Hydrophyllum tenuipes), Pacific bleeding heart (Dicentra formosa), False lily-of-the-valley (Maianthemum dilatatum), Candy Flower (Claytonia sibirica), Inside-out flower (Vancouveria hexandra), Tooth-Leaved Monkeyflower (Mimulus dentatus), Common paintbrush (Castilleja miniata), Youth-on-age (Tolmiea menziesii), Thimbleberry (Rubus parviflorus), Salmonberry (Rubus spectabilis), Fringecup (Tellima grandiflora), False Solomon’s Seal (Maianthemum racemosum), Star-Flowered Solomon’s Seal (Maianthemum stellatum), Red columbine (Aquilegia formosa), Columbia Windflower (Anemone deltoidea), Fairy Lanterns (Disporum smithii), Pacific Starflower (Trientalis borealis ssp. latifolia), Goatsbeard (Aruncus dioicus), Sitka Valerian (Valeriana sitchensis).

Blooming at higher elevations: Hairy-Stemmed Checker-Mallow (Sidalcea hirtipes), Upland Larkspur (Delphinium nuttallianum), Menzie’s larkspur (Delphinium menziesii), Harsh paintbrush (Castilleja hispida), Yellow monkeyflower (Mimulus guttatus), Merten’s Saxifrage (Saxifraga mertensiana), Saddle Mountain Bittercress (Cardamine pattersonii), Saddle Mountain Saxifrage (Saxifraga Hitchcockiana), Western Saxifrage (Saxifraga occidentalis), Western Wallflower (Erysimum capitatum), Columbia lewisia (Lewisia columbiana var. rupicola), Nodding Onion (Allium cernuum), Olympic Onion (Allium crenulatum), Cardwell’s Penstemon (Penstemon cardwellii), Spreading Phlox (Phlox diffusa), Rosy Plectritis (Plectritis congesta), Western Buttercup (Ranunculus occidentalis), Bigroot (Marah oreganus), Oregon Sunshine (Eriophyllum lanatum). Tiger Lily (Lilium columbianum) is just starting.
