Birding In West Marin County 10/14/12

The main destination today was the Mostly Natives Nursery in Tomales to take advantage of their annual end of the season sale. However, this didn’t mean some birding couldn’t take place along the way. A one hour walk at the Giacomini Wetlands behind the town of Point Reyes Station resulted in 15 bird ID’s including a Kestrel and White-tailed Kite. There were several other birds singing in the weeds but they didn’t show themselves and I couldn’t recognize the sounds. Heading north from Pt. Reyes on Highway One  a Red-tailed Hawk and many Brewer’s Blackbirds got added to the day list. At Tomales  additions included Anna’s Hummingbird, Red-breasted Nuthatch and Western Bluebird.
